An exquisite diamond starburst locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! Crafted in 18kt yellow gold, this large, oval-shaped piece adorns a diamond encrusted starburst motif on the front. The sparkling?old?Rose Cut stones?graduate outwards along the rays of an 8 point star, surrounding a larger old Rose Cut diamond at the center. The stunning stone weighs approximately 0.70ct and is?held within raised prongs at the center of a buttercup setting, which is riveted into the face. A wonderful matte surface surrounds the starburst motif, allowing the brightness of the diamonds to come alive when?caught in the light. The locket is hinged on?the side and opens to reveal a glass?covered space to store a favorite picture or keepsake, if desired. The piece hangs from a large diamond lined bail, perfect for hanging from a favorite chain. In total, all of the diamonds weigh?approximately 1.25ctw, creating a bold and fantastic statement piece when worn. Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no serious damage to the gold setting.?All of the diamonds are?intact and securely set as well as the glass interior. The locket opens easily and stays securely closed and the bail is secure and in good working condition.?
