These amethyst teardrop earrings from the Victorian era (ca1880)?are simply stunning! Crafted in vibrant 14kt gold, each earring has a feminine drop design that dangles an amethyst briolette at the base. The teardrop amethyst stones are faceted on both sides and display a wonderful natural purple color. When worn, the facets catch the light perfectly, adding dimension and beauty to the natural stones. The amethyst links are capped in Etruscan style tops, featuring intricate bead and wirework, and dangle freely from two gold links adorned with additional faceted amethyst accent beads. At the top of the earrings are round wirework surmounts attached to gold ear wires, which can be hooked to provide extra security. When worn, the earrings frame the face beautifully, and would look lovely worn on special occasions!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 7/8" long. The faceted amethyst briolettes at the base measure approximately 5/8" tall and 1/4" wide and thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting or amethyst stones, all of which are intact and free of surface chips or scratches. The gold ear wires are secure and in good working condition.
